Each of these VideoPapers was created by a teacher during a two-day workshop that took place on consecutive Saturdays. The first workshop was devoted to learning how to edit digital video; each teacher brought with them an unedited digital videotape that they had shot specifically for use in the workshop. None of the teachers had prior experience with either digital video editing or VideoPaper. The writing of the text in the VideoPaper was accomplished entirely during the second workshop, while participants were learning how to create video-based cases using the VideoPaper Builder software. The videos were edited using iMovie for the Macintosh. (Each VideoPaper opens in a new window.)

Mark: "Angle Dances"

This activity was used in a 10th grade Math 2 class at the Boston Arts Academy (BAA). At the start of the semester, students were introduced to several angle relationships. Their assignment was to turn these concepts into an angle dance.
Sonya: Community in Action

"The first step in helping students build a supportive community was to help them reflect concretely on what a community is. To do this, I posed a question to the class, "Is there a difference between a group of people and a community? Explain."
Allyssa: "Music Class"

"To begin the sight reading process, the students sing the scale they will be working with using solfege syllables. The BAA Music Department uses the moveable do system of solfege, because it provides an entry point into key relationships and chord function. This lesson focuses on exercises in the key of G Major."
