DIVER Project
http://diver.stanford.edu/
A group headed by Roy Pea at Stanford. DIVER allows for an online discussion of video wherein the participants can select passages from the video and annotate them as part of an asynchronous discussion. The video needs to be exported to FLV (Flash video) format and uploaded to a server at Stanford. Users have the option to license the software for use on their own servers. Another branch of the research explores the use of 360-degree classroom films.
